NFL more unpredictable than ever

By Ray Hamill

If he were alive today, Pete Rozelle would be a proud man.

More than two decades after his passing, the former NFL commissioner’s vision for a contemporary sports league is alive and well, and his dream of competitive balance more prevalent than ever before.

This is the modern-day version of the NFL, a league where parity reigns supreme, a league full of average teams lacking in greatness, and a league where unpredictability has become the norm and the old adage “on any given Sunday” rings more true than ever. Read more

Football’s back, and that means …

NFL: New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins

By Ray Hamill

Don’t look now, but there are only 251 games remaining in the NFL season. Doesn’t time fly by?

Another labor of love

By Ray Hamill

I’m delighted to announce the publication of my new book, Help, My Horse is Drowning!, available now on Amazon and any other book sites with suitable good taste (or who don’t know any better).

By Ray Hamill

Congratulations to Marcus Mariota who joined a very illustrious club of recipients when he was named the winner of the Heisman Trophy on Saturday.

The award capped a big week for the Oregon quarterback. On Sunday, his team was included in the first ever four-team national championship playoffs, and on Thursday he stole the show at the national college football awards ceremony, being named Most Outstanding Player and Player of the Year, as well as taking home the top quarterback award.
